Again, like with all these new Star Wars things, I'm just overwhelmingly uncomfortable, yet vaguely excited. George Lucas was so out of touch with the prequels. But, Disney seems to know pretty well how to get the best creative talent to produce amazing work. My worry with J.J. Abrams is that everything of his always ends up having a weird thriller/sci-fi effect to it (e.g. Super 8, Star Trek, Lost, Alias). Sometimes that works (Star Trek), but sometimes it doesn't (Alias).
The saving grace of it all is that Michael Arndt is writing the screenplay. He's the brilliant hand behind Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3, two films of different genres and with totally different feels, but both exceptionally well done.
So we'll see.
